Matteo Cherchi

  • Principal Scientist
  • VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland

I have more than 20 years of experience in integrated optics, both in industrial basic research and in academia. I have been lucky enough to work twice at RLE MIT, first in 2002, when Prof. Hermann Haus was building the foundations of modern silicon photonics, and then again in 2011, when Haus' pupil Michael R Watts just started building his microphotonics group. I'm first of all a device expert, including passive, active and nonlinear devices. At VTT I'm also responsible for the photonics aspects of quantum technologies, and presently coordinating the EU project aCryComm.
